The Opportunity
You’ll be joining a team building the risk intelligence layer for on-chain finance. As a Crypto Security & Risk Intelligence Researcher, you will be responsible for staying on the frontlines of crypto. You’ll monitor exploits, attacks, market events, and emerging risks across DeFi, stablecoins, and on-chain systems and turn them into structured insights.
This role sits at the intersection of security, research, and product. You won’t just report on events. You’ll break them down, extract patterns, and translate them into improvements across Webacy’s Digital Asset Ratings and risk infrastructure.
Your work will directly influence how institutions understand and react to risk in real time.
Requirements
- 2–5+ years of experience in crypto security, threat intelligence, or on-chain research
- Deep familiarity with DeFi protocols, exploits, hacks, and attack vectors
- Strong understanding of smart contract risks, bridges, MEV, and protocol design
- Experience analyzing on-chain data and transaction flows
- Ability to synthesize complex events into clear, structured insights
- Strong writing skills with the ability to produce high-quality research and post-mortems
- High signal-to-noise judgment in fast-moving environments
- Passion for staying extremely up to date on crypto markets, exploits, and ecosystem activity
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and track real-time exploits, hacks, scams, and systemic risk events across crypto
- Produce detailed post-mortems and incident breakdowns on major events
- Identify patterns across exploits and translate them into actionable risk frameworks
- Turn Webacy’s internal data and tooling into compelling research and use cases
- Contribute to improving Webacy’s risk models, detection systems, and ratings methodology
- Write and publish deep-dive research, reports, and threat analyses for external audiences
- Collaborate with product and engineering to ensure new threats are reflected in the platform
- Develop early warning frameworks for emerging attack vectors and systemic risks
- Support BD and GTM efforts by creating credible, high-signal research narratives
Bonus
- Experience working at firms like Chainalysis, TRM Labs, or a crypto security firm
- Background in cybersecurity, incident response, or digital forensics
- Experience writing widely-read research threads, reports, or case studies
- Familiarity with on-chain investigation tools and data platforms
- Early-stage startup experience
